"Good group", Granit Xhaka and Murat Yakin happy with Switzerland's World Cup draw

Coach Murat Yakin and captain Granit Xhaka are happy with the 2026 World Cup draw.
Switzerland has actually been drawn into a very favorable group as they face Canada, Qatar and a national team from the European Championship play-offs (Italy, Northern Ireland, Wales and Bosnia/Herzegovina).
It didn't take long and Xhaka briefly said "bluewin.ch" he briefly commented on the draw.
"A very good group with interesting opponents. Of course, playing against the hosts Canada will be something special. The atmosphere will be fantastic."

Meanwhile, selector Murat Yakin says that all opponents will be extremely motivated.
"Certainly a good and attractive group, in which we undoubtedly want to qualify for the play-off stage."
"We expect the national teams to be highly motivated and have great support in each game. With Qatar it is difficult to predict what style of play they will play. Then we will face a European national team that we know," he added.
On paper, Switzerland is seen as the group's favorite, but if Italy advances from March, then the "mathematics" will change.Telegraph/
