The Mayor of the City of Skopje, Orce Gjorgjievski, said that Skopje will have a New Year's celebration as every metropolis deserves, and it will be decorated.

"The program does not provide funds for decorations before the New Year, but with the budget rebalancing on Friday, we will provide funds for the decoration of the capital and a proper New Year's celebration for the citizens and a New Year's reception will be organized. With this, Skopje will finally be decorated properly and as our citizens deserve," said Gjorgievski.

Regarding the call of the Public Prosecutor, Ljubco Kocevski, to report whether there are indications of abuses in the City of Skopje, Gjorgievski said that they have already met with representatives of the Financial Police and added that in the interest of the investigation, he cannot provide more information.

"I stand by all the facts that I have presented to the public. Around 500 people have been removed from the lists of employees in public enterprises in the city who have received salaries, but have not gone to work, meaning they have violated the Law on Labor Relations and Discipline in Enterprises. These are not people who will be replaced with new people because they have only been allowed to abuse the institutions and bring us to the situation we are in today in the City of Skopje," said Gjorgjievski.

I want, he added, to have command responsibility that does not only mean that these people are removed from the employment lists, but also that the person who signed for them to receive salaries and not work, as well as the director who approved all of this, be held responsible.
