Gjilan bans the use of fireworks during the end-of-year holidays - exception only on New Year's Eve

On the eve of the end-of-year holidays, the Municipality of Gjilan has taken a decision to ban the use of pyrotechnic devices, namely fireworks, in public spaces.
The decision was issued by the Mayor of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, based on Article 13 of the Law on Local Self-Government and Article 78 of the Statute of the Municipality of Gjilan, with the aim of increasing public safety and protecting the health of citizens.
According to the ordinance, the use of fireworks in open public places, such as markets, streets and squares, is prohibited. This ban will be in effect from December 20, 2025 to January 3, 2026.
The only exception to this ban is on New Year's Eve, namely from 23:30 on December 31, 2025 to 00:30 on January 1, 2026.
The order states that persons who act in violation of this decision will be fined 100 euros. The Inspection Directorate and the Kosovo Police will be responsible for implementing the measure.
The Municipality of Gjilan calls on citizens to respect this decision, contributing to a safer and more peaceful celebration for everyone. /Telegrafi/
