Giroud became the victim of one of the worst robberies in the world of sports in the US

French footballer Olivier Giroud was the target of a major robbery that took place at his Los Angeles residence. According to the American newspaper TMZ Sports, the home of French player Olivier Giroud was robbed earlier this month.  

While the 2018 World Cup winner and his family were not present, property worth nearly 500 thousand euros was stolen. 

On February 5, thieves allegedly broke a window to enter the home of the former Arsenal, Chelsea and Milan striker, now a Los Angeles FC player.  

They stole half a million euros worth of items, mostly jewelry, that belonged to the French attacker and his wife. Police are said to have launched an investigation, but have not yet arrested anyone. 

This is a continuation of a series of robberies of well-known athletes across the US, which authorities have been increasingly reporting recently.  

The NBA recently sent out a warning to all basketball players that burglaries have increased recently. Among others, they broke into the homes of Bobby Portis and Luka Doncic and the homes of NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, but Giroud's robbery is undoubtedly one of the most serious. 

The 37-year-old moved to the US last summer, after ending a three-year spell with AC Milan and signing a one-year deal with Los Angeles FC.
