Gërvalla: The correctional system must be strong, disciplined and fair

The Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, met today with the directors of correctional institutions and the directors of departments of the General Directorate of the Kosovo Correctional Service, with whom she directly addressed issues related to the security, management and integrity of the correctional system.
Gërvalla, in a Facebook post, writes that correctional institutions require discipline, professionalism, and clear standards of accountability at every level of management.
“During my visit to Lipjan, I met with the directors of correctional institutions and the directors of departments of the General Directorate of the Kosovo Correctional Service, with whom we directly addressed issues related to the security, management and integrity of the correctional system. Security in correctional institutions, prevention of smuggling, strengthening of control mechanisms and full implementation of the law are responsibilities that leave no room for compromise.
"Correctional institutions require discipline, professionalism and clear standards of accountability at every level of management. Every institution must function in full order, with effective control and clear institutional accountability, because any weakness in this system directly damages citizens' trust in justice," she said.
Furthermore, Minister Gërvalla emphasized that the correctional system must be strong, disciplined and fair.
"This requires determined leadership, uncompromising enforcement of the law, and full institutional commitment to guarantee the safety, order, and integrity of every correctional institution in the country. These standards are not just institutional expectations, but responsibilities that will be followed with seriousness and continued close attention," she said. /Telegrafi/
