In Cologne's last match in the Bundesliga, fans witnessed an unusual scene, as one of the referees decided to propose to his girlfriend.

Pascal Kaiser, a referee who previously came out as bisexual, proposed to his boyfriend Moritz at Cologne's RheinEnergie Stadium.

He did this in front of 50,000 spectators, who greeted the gesture with enthusiastic applause, and before that, the Kaiser gave a long and emotional speech.

"I want everyone to see that I love this person. As a person. As a human being. In football," Kaiser said, among other things.

The video was also shared by Cologne's official Instagram profile.

"Pascal Kaiser is a referee and a big fan of FC Koln. Three years ago he announced that he was bisexual, and today he had a special plan that FC Koln supported. Pascal proposed to his partner at the RheinEnergie Stadium, but see for yourself!", reads the Cologne announcement.

The couple recently celebrated their second anniversary and Moritz said "yes" to his proposal during the match. /Telegraph/
