The journalist of "Frankurter Algemeine Zeitung", Michael Martens, is skeptical about reaching an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, saying that there is no motivation, nor reward for Belgrade and Pristina if they reach an agreement.

Martens, for "Nova" has said that he does not see any serious motivation for either Serbian President Vuçiqi or Prime Minister Kurti to take a serious step forward.

"I think that the entire German-French proposal is not very serious, because I see no reason for neither Serbia nor Kosovo to agree with it. You can talk, negotiate and have meetings, but I don't see what the result will be, because the main result and goal that the EU promises is that there is no EU membership for either Serbia or Kosovo and if this is not exists, then I don't know what Western politicians expect. I don't see any serious motivation for either Vucic or Kurti to take a serious step forward," said Martens, Telegrafi reports.

He also emphasizes that he does not see what pressure the EU can currently have on Kosovo or Serbia.

"I am not sure that there will be sanctions. There is no such thing against Dodik, why will there be against Vucic? All the more that now they think that Kurti is to blame for the lack of results. I am not sure that there will be any result, neither in the positive nor in the negative sense. We're just wasting time," says Martens.

The journalist points out that he does not see what the rewards would be for Belgrade and Pristina if they reach an agreement, but that it would be nice if there was some kind of reward.

"If you want a politician to make a compromise, you have to give him something. And I don't see that, they came to Pristina and Belgrade empty-handed. Neither Vucic nor Kurti will tell them openly – you have nothing and I will not agree with your idea, because that would not be very wise", concluded Martens. /Telegraph/
