Georgiev: Currently, Sofia's relations with Skopje are specific

"We have not received an invitation from the RMV for a joint celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Goce Delchev. We do not have an invitation for now," said Bulgaria's new Foreign Minister, Georg Georgiev, according to Telegrafi Macedonia.

In a statement to Bulgarian media, he discussed both the French proposal and the entire dispute with Macedonia.

"Bulgaria's position not only on the RMV, but also on the French proposal is between the entire EU and the RMV. These are obligations that go beyond a bilateral dispute. If the obligations are not met, the RMV will not be able to continue on the path towards EU membership. Currently, our relations with Skopje are specific," Georgiev emphasized in a statement to "BTV".

Regarding the possible meeting between Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and his Bulgarian counterpart Rosen Zheljazkov, Georgiev said that if such a meeting is required according to established protocol practice, it will be reviewed in terms of seriousness.

"There is no other country, more than Bulgaria, that wants the Western Balkans to be part of the EU," the Bulgarian Foreign Minister added. /Telegraph/
