During the podcast "Health First", supported by United HospitalGastroenterologist Avni Haziri has shown the danger and secrecy of some forms of digestive system cancer, emphasizing that the absence of symptoms does not mean the absence of disease.
According to Haziri, in over 22 years of professional experience, he has encountered numerous cases of patients with advanced stomach and colon cancer who had no warning symptoms.
"During these 22 years of experience, I have had patients with advanced stomach cancer without any symptoms. I have also had patients with colon carcinoma without any clinical signs," Haziri stated.
He explains that colon cancer is considered one of the most dangerous forms, precisely because it develops silently and symptoms appear very late.
"This type of cancer often only causes anemia. The patient does not have blood in the stool, does not have constipation, nor diarrhea. So, there are no typical symptoms that would immediately alert him," the gastroenterologist emphasizes.
Another very important aspect that Haziri highlights is the genetic factor.
He advises that people who have cases of stomach or colon cancer in their family should be especially careful.
