The Speaker of the Parliament, Afrim Gashi, met with the Imam of the Kaaba, Sheikh Dr. Mahir Muajkali, who is on his first official visit to North Macedonia.
As announced by Gashi's cabinet, the meeting was also attended by Reis ul Ulema Shaqir ef. Fetahu, head of the Islamic Religious Community (BFI).
"In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, the interlocutors discussed the importance of his visit, as well as the importance of mutual respect and understanding. At the same time, sincere gratitude was expressed to the state authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their support and cooperation so far."
"The conversation also emphasized the importance of strengthening the ties and values shared by the two countries and peoples, as well as the mutual willingness to advance institutional relations and deepen mutual cooperation," the announcement states.
