After a temporary halt and resumption of the vote verification process, the Central Election Commission has successfully completed the counting and verification of all 105 polling stations in the South Mitrovica municipality.

According to official results, the candidate of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Faton Peci, won with 53.44% of the vote or 17,834 votes, placing him ahead of the candidate of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Arian Tahiri, who received 46.56% or 15,541 votes.

The verification process involved reviewing all votes to ensure the accuracy of the final results, following concerns recently raised regarding some irregularities in the ballots.

We recall that the vote verification process at this center resumed on Wednesday by order of the Basic Prosecution Office, after this institution had initially ordered the temporary interruption of this process.

The resumption of the count by order of the Prosecutor's Office began after the CETIS company that printed the ballots explained that the counting problem occurred in one of the color printer plates.

Developments from the vote verification process in Mitrovica have prompted many reactions.

The PDK has requested a re-election in this municipality. /Telegraph/
