From celebration to brawl: Lack of sweets reportedly sparked a fight among guests at a wedding in India

A wedding in Bodh Gaya, India, has turned into a massive brawl after the sweets corner ran out of a certain type of candy.
The bride's relatives' complaint reportedly prompted a fierce reaction from the groom's family, and tensions quickly escalated, with security camera footage showing guests hitting each other and throwing chairs.
The bride's father, Suresh Prasad, said the situation was further aggravated by allegations of an addition by the groom to the dowry demanded during the wedding rites.
He said that several people from the bride's side were injured and that a report had been filed with the Bodh Gaya police.
Police confirmed injuries on both sides, while the groom's father insisted that the fight started only over the lack of the right type of sweets, not the dowry.
He added that the groom's family still wants the marriage to go through, but the bride's side has refused.
Officers are investigating the case, at a time when wedding practices in India are evolving towards more equal sharing of costs between families. /Telegrafi/
