Freddie Mercury's family in dispute with his ex over sale of artist's belongings worth 3.5 million euros

Kashmira Bulsara (73), sister of music legend Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara), is reportedly furious with his ex-girlfriend, Mary Austin, over the singer's sale of his personal belongings, the British tabloid writes. The Sun.

"Kashmira was shocked and upset to see that so many of her brother's beloved items had been put up for sale," a source close to the family said.

For this reason, Kashmira, along with her son Jamal Zook and personal assistant, discreetly participated in the auction organized by the prestigious house Sotheby's, where she reportedly spent a full three million pounds (3.5 million euros) to purchase some of the most valuable items.

"They had set a large budget, so in the end they were happy with the amount spent - even though they paid more for each item than the original estimate. Of course, Kashmira appreciates the fact that Freddie is adored all over the world, but she was saddened by the idea that some of his most sentimental things might not stay in the family," the source added.

Among the items Kashmira is said to have purchased are: a jukebox, a vest with Freddie's cat pictures that he wore during the filming of the music video for the song "These Are The Days Of Our Lives", as well as eight pages with the first versions of the lyrics to the song "Killer Queen".

As a reminder, Mary and Freddie met in 1970, when he had moved from Zanzibar to London. Three years later they began living together, but in 1976, Freddie revealed to Mary that he was gay, which led to their separation.

However, their bond remained very strong – he often referred to Mary as “his wife”, despite the fact that they never married. They remained close friends until Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991. /Telegraph/
