Former police officer Arbnor Spahiu released from prison in Serbia

Former Kosovo police officer, Arbnor Spahiu, who was arrested months ago by Serbian authorities, was released today and has now arrived in the Republic of Kosovo.
The news was announced by lawyer Arianit Koci and Arbnor's family.
"Today, after long months of anxiety, after a grave injustice - Arbnor Spahiu is free. I said it from day one: he will return. It wasn't easy, but we did it," Koci wrote.
His release was also confirmed by his family member, Shkëlzen Spahiu, through a post on social media. "Arbnor Spahiu has just stepped foot on the soil of the Republic of Kosovo. We thank you on behalf of the family for the support you have given us in these difficult days. Arbnor is in good health. We hope that this will be the last case for our citizens," he wrote.
Spahiu was arrested in June of this year by Serbian police at the border crossing between Hungary and Serbia for allegedly committing the criminal offense of "aggravated murder" in the village of Banjska, Zvečan.
