The former mayor of Kocani, Ratko Dimitrovski, accused in the "Puls" case, stated before the court that he was surprised and that, as he said, "never, never" could he have imagined that he would find himself in the dock for events that occurred 13 years ago.
Dimitrovski claims that the charges against him are an unjust fabrication, harmful even to the families who lost their loved ones. He demanded, as he said, true justice, justice that does not pursue the innocent.
"There are no substitute defendants," he said, warning that the public will not be satisfied if even a person who truly needs to be held accountable is left out of punishment.
Dimitrovski stated that this accusation is "a fabricated liability to deceive public opinion" and recalled that in 2012 the municipality had notified the owner that parking was not allowed on the plots in question. /TV21/
