Former Liverpool footballer Jordan Ibe was arrested last month in connection with an alleged attack that took place in December 2025.

Ibe, currently with Lokomotiv Sofia, was released on bail and will appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on March 6.

He returned to the UK from Bulgaria to attend a hearing in another case, but his arrest was also confirmed by police.

“Jordon Ibe has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. The charge relates to an assault which is alleged to have taken place on Sunday, December 14, 2025,” a police spokesman said, adding: “He was arrested at Luton Airport on January 30 and remanded in custody.”

Ibe joined Lokomotiv Sofia last November after leaving English lower league side Sittingbourne Town, trying to recover his career after difficult periods in England.

Recent events put him facing legal challenges before he can return to focusing on football. /Telegraph/
