Former Liverpool legend slams Nunez after poor performances

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has claimed Darwin Nunez is not good enough for the club after his performance against Accrington Stanley.

Nunez assisted Diogo Jota for the first goal of the match, but the finishing of his actions left something to be desired this time as well, as he failed to score from the five attempts he had in total.

Liverpool eventually won 4-0 thanks to goals from Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa.

But the Uruguayan's performance has been severely criticized by former striker Fowler, who believes that the 25-year-old has no more time to prove that he deserves a place in the lineup.

"We are telling him the same things now that we told him 2 or 3 years ago, he is wild, he is like this, he is like that. We can't keep saying things like that."

"The more I see him, the more I think he's not a Liverpool player. People can attack me for saying this because he works so hard."

"You don't bring a player because he works hard. It should be a prerequisite anyway. You have to come and score goals."

"I know the fans love him for what he does, but you need to perform better in that Liverpool shirt."

"He is not quick enough in terms of how he should finish the action. He's quick on the field, we know how quick he is, but when you're a striker, your thinking speed has to be faster than anybody else's," Fowler said.

The former Benfica star has faced heavy criticism since his move to Anfield and has been unable to hold down a place in the starting line-up../telegraph/
