Former Israeli officer says army is killing children for fun in Gaza, measures are being taken against him
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has commented on the statements of former deputy chief of staff of the Israeli army, Yair Golan, who criticized the current government, and has warned of harsh sanctions against him.
According to Katz, Yair Golan will be permanently banned from serving in the Israeli army reserve.
He is also prohibited from wearing the Israeli military uniform and entering military bases.
"His statements are grave defamation. These statements could be used by Israel's enemies to initiate legal proceedings against Israel Defense Forces (IDF) personnel in international courts," Katz said.
He added that Golan no longer has a place in the IDF, "there is no place for people like Golan in public life."
Recall that Golan harshly criticized the current Israeli government, saying that it is killing Gaza children for a hobby.
"Israel is on the path to becoming an isolated state, like South Africa once was, if we don't return to behaving like a reasonable state. A reasonable state doesn't fight against civilians, doesn't kill children for fun, and doesn't aim to expel the population," Golan said.
He stressed that this approach is endangering Israel's security and survival.
"This government is full of vindictive people, without morals and without the ability to lead the state in times of crisis. This endangers our existence," Golan concluded. /Telegraph/
