Former Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Eike Immel sentenced to prison for 107 fraud cases

According to information from the German Press Agency, Eike Immel, who played for Borussia Dortmund and the German national team during his career, has been sentenced to prison.
According to his lawyer, Immel has been found guilty of fraud on 107 counts.
The district court in Marburg sentenced him to two years and two months in prison, Immel's lawyer Turgay Schmidt confirmed to the German Press Agency.
The court was initially unavailable for comment. The decision is not yet final.
In the vast majority of the 107 fraud cases, Immel was accused of borrowing money from acquaintances and failing to return it.
The total amount involved is said to be around 34,000 euros.
On behalf of his client, Schmidt announced plans to appeal the decision: “We will file an appeal against the decision.
We will await the written reasoning for the decision, review it fully, and then prepare the appeal accordingly.” The legal team has one week to do so. /Telegrafi/
