Foreign tourists are amazed by the nature, but complain about Brezovica's infrastructure

The tourist spot of Brezovica attracts many ski enthusiasts and tourists who like winter nature. However, the lack of investment makes it somewhat difficult to go and stay in this tourist spot. The last infrastructure investment in Brezovica was made five years ago, on the Shtërpcë–Brezovicë road. Parking spaces also pose a separate problem.
Noa Beth, a tourist from America, is in Brezovica for the first time. She says she really likes the nature, the fresh air, and the skiing in this area.
"I come from the United States of America. It's my first time in Brezovica and I like everything here. The coffee is delicious, the people are wonderful, the air is very clean, and the skiing in these mountainous areas is incredible. It's a bit like New Mexico, but there are difficulties there, as the amount of snow is greater. However, I would like the infrastructure to be even better organized in Brezovica. I would like to come again, because I like skiing and I want to buy some skiing equipment here before I return home," said Noa Beth, a tourist from America.
Professional and amateur skiers, from Kosovo and the diaspora, visit Brezovica, although they have complaints about the maintenance of the ski center.
"I like skiing in Brezovica, but the cable car is often closed. The road is good, but it needs more garbage cleaning and more parking spaces," emphasizes Egzon Kuka, a skier.
"It's good, but they haven't fixed the trails. There are two side ones, while this other one, the small one, hasn't been fixed at all, only the big one called 'Lion's Neck'. They haven't released the lift until 9:00, and even when they did, they haven't directed it properly. We were forced to walk on skis," Adem Kushaj, tourist.
"In Brezovica, maintenance is lacking. As an amateur skier, I would need more training. They exist, but in general the slopes need to be better and better maintained. The prices are affordable and I have no complaints about them," Agron Mazreku, amateur skier.
Alban Tahiri, a businessman from the municipality of Shtërpcë, says that Brezovica lacks investments that could attract tourists from all over the world.
"The only investment was made five years ago, when the road that was previously in bad condition was repaired. Since then, no other investment has been made. The moment privatization takes place or investments increase, tourists from all over the world will normally be attracted," said Alban Tahiri, a businessman.
Car parks in Brezovica stretch for kilometers, while visitors have to walk for almost an hour to reach the ski center.
Keeping the cable cars operational at all times, providing sufficient parking for all visitors, and improving maintenance remain the main challenges facing this tourist area of Kosovo. Businessmen and visitors say these problems can only be solved through privatization./RTK
