Ford recalls 120 vehicles in US due to brake defect

Ford is recalling almost 150,000 vehicles in the U.S. after significant problems were found in several different models, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The major automaker ordered a recall for 123,611 vehicles due to brake fluid leaks, while another 20,000 units were affected by a control module defect, both of which can lead to loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford sold over 2 million cars in the US last year and is not one of the world's largest automakers. Any problem with its cars has the potential to affect thousands of drivers, the Telegraph reports.

In particular, brake fluid leaks can drastically increase stopping distances and impair a driver's ability to react to road incidents, while a control module problem causes engines to stall in some situations, causing a similar problem. /Telegraph/
