The fog that has engulfed the capital in recent days has not only reduced visibility, but has also increased traffic risks. Therefore, the Kosovo Police appeals for increased caution, as driving in fog can be dangerous.

Traffic experts advise that we be more careful in fog, follow the rules, and avoid unnecessary exits.

"Any situation that is like fog, rain, snow, if we are careful, we can normally handle it more easily and better. On foggy days, we should reduce our speed if we encounter fog on the road, but if we have the opportunity to avoid traffic, it is better to avoid it, especially in the early and late hours because driving is more difficult," said Lavdim Hamiti, a traffic expert.

But, in air traffic, officials from Pristina International Airport stated that no difficulties or flight cancellations were caused due to the fog.

However, the fog was said to also have a negative impact on human health.

"Fog generally affects people who have respiratory problems, such as asthma or bronchitis, in a single, direct way. The harmful effect of fog increases with pollution, so the harmful effect of fog is because when we have fog, air pollution becomes much more effective, in that bad aspect," said Besim Morina, a pulmonologist.

Meanwhile, the Hydrometeorological Institute has announced that stabilization of meteorological conditions is expected./RTK
