The request made by his agent in recent meetings has surprised Madrid's leaders, especially after a season where Vinicius' performance was fluctuating.
For months, the parties had reached a preliminary agreement, which included bonuses and target-based clauses, making Vinicius the second highest-paid player at Real Madrid. But with the demand to surpass this status and equalize his salary with the French star, talks have stalled.
Despite this situation, the club's leaders are not alarmed. Vinicius' current contract is valid until 2026, and there is still time to sort everything out. Real Madrid expect the player to return to his best form this season and justify any new demands - although the demand to be at Mbappe's financial level is seen as unrealistic.
