The Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, was reported to SPAK today. The flooding situation in the city has also resulted in a criminal report being filed against the official.
The member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Ilirjana Kuçana, has today filed a criminal complaint with the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK, against the Mayor of Durrës, Emirjana Sako, as well as against other institutions, for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office in collaboration", provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code, euronews.al reports.
According to the complaint, which also includes the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Durrës Irrigation and Drainage Directorate, it is suspected that the persons and institutions involved may have misused public funds and other official duties, contributing to the worsening of the flooding situation in the city of Durrës.
The report states that the investigation may also uncover other criminal acts committed in collaboration by the persons and institutions involved. The legal document references the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, the Criminal Code and the laws on local self-government and irrigation and drainage administration.
