Floods in the country, Berisha: A state of natural disaster should be declared

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, is calling for the declaration of a state of natural disaster in all areas flooded by the rainfall.
"The drama we see today really has a natural cause and therefore I request the declaration of a state of natural disaster, but it would never have reached these dimensions if the dams, which are designed to protect areas from flooding, were on standby and functioning, and if their sewage system was functioning," Berisha said, reports A2 CNN.
Berisha says the government is also responsible for the situation the country is in, accusing it of mismanagement. Speaking to reporters, the opposition leader stated that investments in hydroelectric dams were made without a study, which is why Durrës has been under water for more than 24 hours.
"Durrës has never known such a flood. And the causes of the magnitude of this flood are absolutely theft, theft and only theft of funds. Albanian taxpayers have paid for the protection of the Durrës district, Porto Romano and other areas, 42 million euros in investment. But corruption has caused the Porto Romano hydropower plant, the collector to have a quota of over 70 centimeters," said Berisha, according to A2 CNN.
During the conversation with journalists, the democratic leader returned to the accusations against Rama regarding the AKSHI file. Berisha calls the prime minister a mafia boss and accuses him of stealing Albanian data in collaboration with Ergys Agas to serve it to countries that are not friendly to Albania.
"He is the mafia boss who has stolen the personal data of Albanians. Who has tapped phones, computers, of all embassies in Albania and foreign representatives. Who has exported to NATO's enemies, NATO data that was entrusted to Albania. Who has exported the most secret data to drug cartels and criminal organizations," the democratic leader emphasized, reports A2 CNN.
The situation in which the country finds itself requires a reaction, said Berisha, so he once again invited all opposition forces to join the roundtable organized since Friday, where the date of the next national protest will also be decided.
