Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has expressed his satisfaction after his team's 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final.

"It's great, it was an important final and against Madrid it's always special. I'm proud, we played the way we wanted to," Flick declared after the match.

Speaking about the celebrations, the German coach revealed that he was not yet in the dressing room, but had seen the players celebrating.

"Now they are celebrating and I only saw them dancing. I am very proud, we played very well, keeping possession of the ball and controlling the game. In the end, the whole team played the way we liked. It was not easy and we fought as a team, it was impressive," he added.

Flick also spoke about the impact this victory has on the team. "The situation is different from last season. We started from a disadvantage, but now we are succeeding and functioning as a team. That gives me very good feelings. It was a very important match and the changes we made have given us a lot of inspiration."

The Barcelona coach also praised the fans' support. "The semi-final was very good and today I saw the same thing, it was impressive. We played very well against Madrid, they also fought until the end. I'm very happy for everything."

After the match, Flick also highlighted the performances of several key players. He particularly praised Raphinha who was fantastic, scoring two goals.

"Raphinha's mentality is impressive and we have others like him, it affects the whole team. He missed the first chance, but he took the second and gave us confidence. We were under a lot of pressure, as you can see."

Flick also spoke about the progress of Eric Garcia, a player who is playing in different positions at Barcelona and is always showing solid performances.

"Eric had some chances and has developed a lot. I appreciate that, because he can play in many positions. He has an impressive mentality and could be one of the captains in the future."

The coach also revealed a piece of advice he gave the team before the final. "At least score a goal. The team in general, not me as a coach, for the way they play and what they offer the fans, we can rely on that. I don't think about the previous games, because the final was very important and playing against Madrid is always special."

Finally, Flick also commented on the return of Ronald Araujo. "I think in this situation, for him to play and win the title is very important. I'm happy to see him again, he's very important for the dressing room," concluded the German coach. /Telegraph/
