Five minutes late due to a traffic accident, Japanese minister filmed running to meeting – publicly apologizes for delay

This is the moment a Japanese politician sprinted to a meeting she was five minutes late for - and then apologized to the entire nation.
Kimi Onoda, Japan's Minister for Economic Security, was filmed getting out of a taxi and running to a cabinet meeting on Friday morning.
Footage that went viral showed the 43-year-old running into the building, bag in hand, and then passing the press as an aide ran alongside her.
The politician was then seen rushing down the stairs towards the meeting, the Telegraph reports.
The Liberal Democratic Party minister later apologized to all of Japan, citing a traffic accident and subsequent delays for her tardiness.
Onoda, a popular right-wing figure with harsh views on immigrants, addressed the nation saying he had been "stuck in traffic due to a sudden accident and was unable to move."
"I will remain vigilant so that I can respond to any unforeseen circumstances," she said.
Being on time is very important in Japan and being late is considered rude.
However, she has been praised for her quick apology, calling her response "exemplary". /Telegraph/
