First they "infected" you, now they're helping you sleep

TikTok initially "infected" users with good video suggestions, and now it has announced a new feature that will help you sleep easier, instead of endlessly scrolling through views.

It's about the "meditation" feature, which TikTok has already introduced for minors under 18. According to the company's reports, 98 percent of teenagers who participated in the test kept the feature activated, which is quite impressive. For this reason, TikTok has decided to make this feature available to all users, regardless of age.

“We recently announced testing a feature to encourage young people to unplug from their devices at night. During our testing, 98 percent of teens kept the meditation feature enabled,” the statement said, adding that “studies show that mindful meditation can improve sleep quality for people of all ages, so we will be offering this feature to all of our users, regardless of age.”

However, the company emphasizes that this feature will be automatically activated for teenagers under 18. For adults, they will have the option to activate it themselves if they feel they have difficulty leaving their phone.

These reminders will only appear once, but if you ignore them, subsequent notifications will be harder to dismiss.

“If a teen decides to use TikTok after 22 p.m., their ‘For You’ page will be interrupted by a guided meditation exercise to help them wind down before bed. If the teen chooses to stay on TikTok longer after the first reminder, we’ll show another one — one that’s harder to ignore. It’ll be a full-screen pop-up,” TikTok announced. /Telegraph/
