A survivor of the tragedy in Kočani, Ana Karova, has shared a status on social media about the pain and challenges of escaping in the chaos of the burning discotheque, reports Telegraph Macedonia.

Where are the people who are supposed to CARE about us? The people who swore to help, to save, to sacrifice?! Where were they when we were fighting for our lives? They stood silently and watched us…
Call:
– Help, save me! Please! I can't breathe!
While the person holding the title POLICE grabs my hand and says:
– We can't!
He walks away and doesn't look at me. There was only despair in my eyes, DESPERATE!
SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE! We are all children! We were all fighting for our lives! Only God protected us at that fatal moment. Where will you take your souls, people?!! WHERE?!! WE WILL BURN YOU ALIVE!!!!!
We didn't know why, how, why exactly we had to suffer for YOUR sins? We didn't deserve this... we thought you would take care of us! Since we were little, we looked to the police as an example... that childish dream that the policeman is a hero sank into the water...
"NO! WE ARE HEROES, AND YOU SHOULD BE SHAMEFUL FOR PROUDLY CALLING YOURSELVES saviors! I exclude from this the police officers who helped, who can be counted on the fingers," wrote Ana Karova.
