And while Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama promised compensation for all those affected by the fires and new homes for residents who have been left without them, Defense Minister Pirro Vëngu has provided further details on how this will be accomplished.
Through a post on social media, Vëngu writes that in each municipality, an Assessment Group will be established by order of the mayor, which will verify the damages and fill out forms with financial costs.
Then, lists of damaged entities and relevant documentation will be prepared, and after a financial assessment, the cost of compensation will be determined for each municipality, which will be carried out from the funds of the affected municipality, through the civil protection fund.
