Police arrested two people in Kavadarci, 59-year-old NS and his 34-year-old son, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "usury".
Specifically, according to the report, in June 2023, a 71-year-old man from Negotina had borrowed about 80.000 denars from them and they had agreed to repay them with 20.000 denars per week, but since he had failed to repay the amount received, they constantly charged him interest and increased his debt.
"During this entire period, the injured party had paid NS an amount of over 700.000 denars. Following the order issued by the court, a search was conducted in their home, where objects suspected of being related to the crime were found. After the case is fully documented, a corresponding criminal report will be filed against them," the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
