Facebook creators can now earn money from their stories

Meta has launched a new initiative to motivate users to create content and share photos and videos on Facebook.

Meta has announced that creators in Facebook's Content Monetization program can now earn money by allowing people to view their Facebook Stories.

Considering the simple way to publish content, Stories represents a fairly easy opportunity for creators to earn extra money from the content they publish on Facebook.

The opportunity to earn from Stories is available worldwide, based on post performance, and Stories must be open to the public to be eligible for monetization. Creators who are not yet part of the Content Monetization program can apply through Meta's website.

This new payment method is just the latest effort by Meta to encourage creators to publish content on Facebook instead of Instagram or other apps. In January, the company introduced its rewards program, which offers $5000 to creators who already have a presence on another social media platform for publishing a certain amount of photos and videos on Instagram and Facebook.

The timing of the program's launch clearly shows that Meta wants to attract creators who will soon lose access to TikTok. The administration of US President Donald Trump temporarily "rescued" the social network, giving creators time to act, but Meta is trying to make the most of the chaos. /Telegraph/
