A new trend on TikTok is being heavily criticized by veterinarians, as dog owners try to scare their pets with scary Halloween decorations.

While many users see this as something funny, experts warn that it could have serious consequences for animal welfare.

Dr. Anna Foreman, a veterinarian with Everypaw Pet Insurance, called this behavior "extremely irresponsible."

According to her, intentionally scaring animals can cause anxiety, stress, and in some cases aggression towards the owner.

"Dogs and cats don't understand that these decorations aren't a real threat," she said.

Experts urge users not to follow this trend and to respect the feelings of pets. /Telegraph/
