Everton reveal the official name of their new stadium and fans call it 'the worst ever'

Everton's spectacular new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock has its first official name as of today, and fans are none too excited.

Everton's new stadium will be called Dickinson Hill and the name comes from a successful commercial law firm that includes 11 offices across the UK, Europe and Asia.

It is a Liverpool company that combines two institutions from the city. Everton have announced that Hill Dickinson has become the official naming rights partner, so the new stadium will be called "Hill Dickinson".

Everton announced that this is one of the largest contracts in European football and that the club and the company have a shared history dating back to Everton's founding in 1878.

However, fans are still disappointed with the name of the new stadium. Although it is a rich contract, which will certainly affect the future of the club, the word Dickinson is interpreted pejoratively in English and according to comments on social media, few are happy with the club's move and most fear that the new stadium will be mocked because of its name.

Of course, the "forums" about the name of Everton's new stadium have already started on social networks, and fans of local rivals are trying to find the best idea to "tease" the Liverpool club.

Hill Dickinson Stadium, whose official opening is scheduled for August this year, was recently built and has a capacity of 52,888 seats. /Telegraph/
