The Mayor of Vushtrri, Ferit Idrizi, has announced that the municipality has faced disconnections of public lighting by KEDS in recent days, due to a lack of funds to pay energy bills.
He said that the situation was created after the execution of over 3.5 million euros from the 2025 budget, as an obligation for the Collective Agreement, leaving the municipality with more than half of the capital investment budget unattainable.
Idrizi emphasized that steps have been taken to normalize the situation and that an extraordinary session of the Municipal Assembly has been called to approve the excess of own-source revenues that would enable the payment of energy bills.
He hopes the situation will stabilize soon.
