Eurovision organizers postpone vote on Israel's inclusion in next year's contest

Eurovision organizers have postponed a decision on Israel's participation in the 2026 contest due to recent tensions in the Middle East.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) canceled the virtual meeting planned for November and decided to discuss the issue at the general assembly in December.
Several participating countries, including Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, Iceland and the Netherlands, have warned they may boycott the contest if Israel takes part, citing the conflict situation in Gaza. BBC.

Austrian broadcaster ORF, host of the upcoming edition, welcomed the EBU's decision and stressed that the arts are not an arena for sanctions.
On the other hand, Israeli broadcaster Kan remains committed to the country's participation, highlighting Israel's success in the last edition of Eurovision, where Yuval Raphael received the most public votes, although Austria was declared the winner due to jury votes.
The EBU has stressed that the decision aims to ensure an open discussion among members about the situation and Israel's possible participation in the contest. /Telegraph/
