Erdogan calls for peace: Syria has put an end to blood and tears, they deserve it more than anyone else

Recently, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticized Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria.

In a statement, Erdogan emphasized Turkey's steadfast commitment to achieving peace in Syria.

He underlined the Turkish vision for a united Syria, where all communities can coexist peacefully and without fear, Telegraph reports.

"The Syrians have ended the war, they have ended the blood and tears", Erdogan begins the statement.

"Our Syrian brothers deserve peace more than anyone else", he continues.

Among other things, the Turkish leader emphasized that Turkey's only goal is the well-being of the Syrians.

"We have always worked for this goal. That was our sole purpose when we opened our doors to our brothers and sisters fleeing violence and reached out to help them find a solution. But the Damascus regime did not understand the value of Turkey's reaching out.", Erdogan said.

His statement concluded by saying: "Turkey is on the right side of history even today, as it was yesterday. We want to see peace prevail in Syria, where Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, Alawites, Sunnis, and Christians live together and are not excluded, their rights and freedoms are not violated, they are not mistreated, but they live alongside each other." /Telegraph/
