Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump will hold a telephone conversation again next Monday.

"On Monday we will have another discussion with US President Donald Trump," Erdogan said after Friday prayers in Istanbul.

Referring to the large show of public support for Palestine on New Year's Day, Erdogan said the massive rally on Istanbul's Galata Bridge marked "a historic moment" and stressed that it showed that "Palestine is not alone."

"What this Pharaoh called Benjamin Netanyahu has done will not go unpunished, because he has received countless curses from oppressed people, from young to old," President Erdogan said.

The Turkish president also condemned Israel's actions in Gaza and the worsening humanitarian situation there.

"The suffering of children in Gaza, living in makeshift tents amidst the wind and rain, will not go unanswered and Netanyahu will not evade accountability," he said. /AA
