Election results certified, paving the way for the formation of new institutions

The Central Election Commission (CEC) certified on Monday, 09.02.2026, the results of the early parliamentary elections held in Kosovo on 25 December 2025.
With 11 votes for the CEC, it certified the election results.
With the certification of the results, the way is opened for the formation of new institutions in Kosovo.
The certification comes after the Supreme Court rejected as unfounded the last six complaints regarding the December 28 elections.
The early elections of December 28, 2025, resulted in the Vetëvendosje Movement as the winning party.
This party has won 57 seats in the Kosovo Assembly, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 22 seats, the Democratic League of Kosovo 15 seats, and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo six seats.
In addition to the 10 seats guaranteed for the Serbian community, two seats will be occupied by two deputies from the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo. While, one seat each has been won by other parties from non-majority communities: VAKAT, Social Democratic Union, New Democratic Party, New Democratic Initiative of Kosovo (IRDK), Egyptian Liberal Party, Ashkali Social Democratic Party, Progressive Roma Movement of Kosovo and United Gorani Party.
The certification of the elections was delayed after the CEC ordered a recount of votes across the country following suspicions of manipulation of the number of votes of candidates for deputies.
Dozens of people responsible for counting centers in several municipalities in Kosovo have been arrested due to suspicions of vote manipulation.
