Election campaign expenses – today is the deadline for submitting reports by political parties

Today is the deadline for political entities to declare campaign expenses for the February 9 election.

This was announced to the Telegraph by the spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Valmir Elezi.

He emphasized that political entities are obliged to submit financial reports on election campaign expenses for the elections held on February 9, 2025.

"April 28 is the deadline for submitting financial reports for the election campaign. This is a legal obligation for all political entities that participated in the elections," Elezi told Telegrafi.

According to him, all 28 political entities certified for participation in the Kosovo Assembly Elections have been notified in a timely manner by the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Entities about their obligations.

“The reports must cover the period from August 16, 2024, the day the elections were announced, to February 9, 2025, when they were held. The campaign financial reports, as well as the annual ones, will be subject to an audit process by auditors selected through an open public competition,” Elezi added.

He emphasized that financial transparency is an essential part of the electoral process for building citizens' trust in democracy. /Telegraph/
