Although the congratulations came a day after the official holiday, her message was welcomed by fans and the Albanian community, emphasizing her strong connection to her homeland.
On February 17, 2026, Kosovo marked the 18th anniversary of Independence, organizing a series of activities in Pristina.

A "Justice, Not Politics" protest was also held, in support of former KLA leaders who are in The Hague.
Lipa has always been active in promoting Kosovo on the international stage, mentioning her birthplace in interviews, concerts, and musical projects.
