A long police chase, which began in the Obiliq area and ended in Mitrovica, resulted in the arrest of a driver and his three passengers, who attempted to evade the Police during the night of February 7th.

According to the Police, a patrol unit had attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, but the driver had not obeyed the signals, endangering the police officer and continuing his escape towards Vushtrri and then Mitrovica.

The pursuit was coordinated between the Traffic Unit of the Obiliq Police Station and the South Mitrovica Traffic Units, which continuously used official signals to stop. During the escape, the driver also endangered other traffic participants, while in the Mitrovica area he hit the pursuing police vehicle three times.

Thanks to the skill and professionalism of the police officers, who acted prudently so as not to endanger citizens, the vehicle was stopped at a convenient location on the Mitrovica-Zubin Potok national road, in the village of Zupç. The driver was arrested there, while the three passengers were escorted away.

Two police officers injured during the pursuit received medical treatment.

By decision of the competent prosecutor, the driver has been placed under police detention. The case is being investigated for the criminal offense of "Assault on an official in the performance of official duty"./Telegrafi/
