Dozens of Poles buy properties on the coast of Saranda

Citizens from Poland seem to have turned their eyes to Saranda to buy property. Dozens of Poles have invested in real estate in recent years in the southern coastal city. Affordable prices for them, the long and sunny summer and the coast are some of the reasons that have pushed Poles to buy property in the south of Albania.

Five years ago Tomas from Poland decided to buy an apartment in Saranda.

Reasonable prices, the sea and the long summer were the main reasons that he and his family settled in Saranda, where he plans to spend the rest of his life.

"We decided to buy an apartment 5 years ago and one of the reasons was the favorable prices for us at that time, because now they are increasing all over Europe. Prices here are lower than in Poland," he says.

After studying the city and the real estate market, Tomas says that he and his family are thinking of investing in buying other apartments, since the prices in other countries in Europe are much higher.

"I'm thinking of investing in property or buying a bigger house to live in because my wife and I are thinking of living here. We are at that age when we want to live somewhere and not work", adds Tomas.

According to Bledi Mullai, a real estate agent in the coastal city, Poles have become the number 1 buyer of apartments and businesses.

"There has been an increase in Polish customers who have created their own community here," he said.

The 30-40 percent increase in the price of properties in Saranda has been seen as affordable by the Poles who, in large numbers, are buying properties for business purposes.

With property purchases, the Poles have become a real community in the south, while the number of these citizens visiting the Ionian coast is expected to increase more and more. /Ora News/
