Donald Trump's son's statement on NATO intervention in Kosovo, Bolton: He does not represent US policies

Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has commented, among other things, on the stance of the US President's son, Donald Trump Jr., who stated that former US President Bill Clinton had directed the humanitarian intervention in Kosovo in order to shift attention from the Lewinsky affair.

Bolton said that the new Donald Trump has never been chosen by anyone to represent the US, while his statements could also be in the context of Trump's investments in Serbia.

"It's not like we have some kind of hereditary presidential form, it's an expression that we may not find important, but it's something that may have to do with Trump's organizational investments in Serbia, but we must remember that Donald Trump Jr. was never elected by anyone to represent the United States of America," Bolton told Euronews Albania.

Asked how much attention President Donald Trump will pay to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and how much influence America will have on this issue.

"It could be very important. If there is attention to this. I was personally involved when I served in national security. Serbia and Kosovo could be close to an agreement and that is in the interest of everyone in the Balkans. There will be no economic investment until these political issues are resolved. I understand the long history, but the two leaders need to sit down together and resolve this, the rest of us can create the conditions for them to reach an agreement," Bolton said.

Trump Jr. during his stay in Serbia said that "NATO bombed Serbia in 1999, which led to the withdrawal of Serbian forces from Kosovo. This happened at the height of the Bill Clinton - Monica Lewinsky scandal. Many, especially now, in retrospect, see this bombing as a distraction from that failure of Bill Clinton."
