Dodik threatens to arrest High Representative Schmidt

The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, convicted in the first instance, addressed the public today following the High Representative's decision to cut off budget funding for the SNSD and "United Srpska". He also commented on the attempt to arrest him.

Dodik again harshly criticized the High Representative, Christian Schmidt, questioning his legitimacy and competences, and declared that RS will not respect any of his decisions.

He called Schmidt a "fake governor" and a "fascist", stressing that the laws and decisions he imposes contradict the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and have no legal basis, writes klix.ba.

"Christian Schmidt has no legitimacy, no right, and no competence. Our Bosnian partners have accepted his competence because he is against us in RS, but this mostly harms the very existence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. No state survives this kind of intervention," Dodik said.

According to him, Republika Srpska, which makes up 49 percent of BiH's territory, will not accept "impositions and false narratives" coming from the international community, and warned that RS institutions will react by suspending the implementation of contested acts and seeking a new agreement on the future of BiH.

He also commented on the current political crisis and warned of resistance through institutions, sending a tough message that the prosecution of the RS political leadership will not go without consequences.

"What kind of way is this, to suddenly prosecute the president, the speaker of the National Assembly, the prime minister, the ministers? Whoever thinks we won't defend ourselves is wrong," the Serbian separatist declared.

In the end, Dodik did not mince words when commenting on the international community and Schmidt's decision to cut off budget funds to the SNSD and "United Srpska" due to anti-Dayton policies.

"What arrogant fools. How is it possible that some political parties get funding and others don't? This is their democracy. I don't care about him or his decisions," he said. /Telegraph/
