Dodik: Bosnia will disintegrate, the Ottomans forced Bosniaks to become Muslims

The President of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, addressed the public after a meeting of the governing coalition in RS, making a series of offensive, chauvinistic and historically unfounded statements, which have caused numerous reactions in local and regional public opinion.

During the speech, Dodik declared that Bosnia and Herzegovina is “disintegrating” and that its legacy “reeks of inhumanity.” He repeatedly dismissed the legitimacy of the High Representative, Christian Schmidt, calling him “illegitimate,” and claimed that “Muslims,” as he calls Bosniaks, “accept his decisions and hope for the second half of the game.”

However, the most scandalous and offensive part of the speech was the direct call to Bosniaks to "return to the Orthodox religion", claiming that Bosnia and Herzegovina would then be "mainly Serbian" and that "only such a state can exist", reports the Telegraph.

"The solution for Bosnia is this: for Muslims to return to their old Orthodox religion. We are trying to give constructive proposals. There is evidence that our ancestors converted to Islam under Ottoman coercion. Therefore, for me this is a correct solution," Dodik said.

He added that "Bosnians should return to the religion of their ancestors, and thus Bosnia would be majority Serb," he writes. klix.ba.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina is not what it claims to be. It will disintegrate. And I am happy about that," Dodik said, not hiding his pleasure at the possible collapse of the state.

The Serbian separatist's statements have also been interpreted as an open attempt to undermine the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to incite religious and national hatred. /Telegraph/
