Do you know why you shouldn't eat bananas for breakfast?

Banana is a popular tropical fruit, rich in vitamins and minerals. Due to its high potassium content, it is especially recommended for people suffering from fatigue, lack of energy and high blood pressure. Therefore, it is often the first choice for breakfast, which nutritionists do not recommend.

Ripe bananas are composed primarily of carbohydrates, half of which are sugars, making them one of the fruits with the highest sugar content. Due to their high potassium content, bananas are beneficial for preventing high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, as well as for kidney health.

The fruit contains very little protein and a negligible amount of fat. Bananas are also an excellent source of vitamin B6 and potassium, and are rich in vitamin C, manganese, magnesium, and several other B-complex vitamins. However, despite all the positive effects and nutritional value of bananas, they are not a recommended choice for breakfast.

The high sugar content has a significant impact on our well-being throughout the day. When we eat a banana, our blood sugar and energy levels increase significantly, but at the same time they drop drastically, explained nutritionist Dr. Darly Gioffre.

This then leads to an increased feeling of hunger, so people who start their day with a banana end up consuming more calories throughout the day than they otherwise would. Also, according to him, bananas are not exactly an ideal choice for good digestion. When sugar is consumed, a fermentation process occurs, in which the sugar turns into acid, thus blocking digestion.

A much better choice for breakfast is cereal and a healthy sandwich, while bananas are a better choice for a snack.
