The Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Koçoska, together with the Director of Public Revenues, Elena Petrova, announced today the start of the implementation of the electronic invoice system, evaluating it as an important reform in public finances and a serious step in the fight against the informal economy.

"The fight against the informal economy, i.e. its formalization, is a priority of the Government and part of the four-year program. Estimates by the World Bank, the IMF and the European Commission show that the informal economy in the country amounts to about 30 percent of GDP, which is above the European Union average. Therefore, we need a systemic approach, with measures that will be of mutual interest to both the state and the business community.

"This has a strong impact not only on the collection of revenues in the Budget, but also on the implementation of projects for better healthcare, education, social protection, innovation and economic growth," the Minister of Finance emphasized at a press conference.

She emphasizes that the digitalization of processes in the DAP, as well as in other institutions, is the key to increasing efficiency in both the collection and spending of budget funds. /Telegrafi/
