Details of Gasperini's contract with Roma revealed - but the coach has one condition
Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini could take charge of Roma, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The club has identified the 67-year-old Italian as the ideal replacement for Claudio Ranieri, who will not be the team's coach next season.
Roma, at the request of their owner, have already contacted Gasperini. Sporting director Florent Ghisolfi and Ranieri - who will move into an administrative role after this season - met with him, offering him a three-year contract.
No deal has been finalized yet. Gasperini is pleased by Roma's interest and appreciates their proposed project, but he has reserved the right to take time to reflect calmly before deciding.
Gasperini plans to meet with Atalanta's management after announcing he will not extend his contract beyond 2026. He could then weigh up other offers from clubs such as Napoli and Milan, who are unsure about keeping their current coaches next season. However, that doesn't mean he finds them all more attractive than Roma.
