An amateur video shows the moment a man runs away to escape the jaws of a polar bear on a remote island in the Arctic.
Residents of the small village of Pyramiden had been trying to scare away the bears after one was seen sniffing around the residents' snowmobiles, the Telegraph reports.
But amateur video filmed on the island of Svalbard showed the moment when the wild animal did not retreat even after a barrage of bullets fired in its direction.
The man had not managed to get even a single bullet to hit him – forcing him to quickly flee and drive away on a high-speed snowmobile.
This type of bear can run at speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour, but the man fortunately increased his speed as he drove away - forcing the bear to stop. /Telegraph
